Developer Advocate at Lightning Labs • Early Bitcoin Adopter • Educator
Hannah Rosenberg is a Developer Advocate at Lightning Labs, where she has been working since April 2021. She is one of the key voices helping developers build on the Lightning Network and understand the Taproot Assets protocol.
Hannah has been involved in Bitcoin since 2012, making her one of the earliest adopters in the ecosystem. She studied economics at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), giving her a unique perspective that bridges economic theory with protocol engineering.
Before Lightning Labs, Hannah founded Velas Commerce in 2014, one of the early Bitcoin commerce platforms. She also organized Chicago's largest blockchain meetup, building a vibrant local community of developers and enthusiasts.
As a member of the CLNP (Chicago Lightning Network Project) committee, she has been instrumental in connecting developers with Lightning infrastructure. Hannah has also served as a university instructor, teaching blockchain technology to the next generation of developers.
Hannah's contributions center on making Lightning and Taproot Assets accessible to developers:
This masterclass dives into Layer 2 — the Lightning Network, Bitcoin's primary scaling solution for instant, low-cost payments. Hannah brings the perspective of someone who both understands the protocol deeply and knows how to explain it to developers.
